This is such a great review of the literary works by great Kenyan writers especially those during the high handedness moment where the then ruling elites tried to curtail the use of literature to reach out to the masses as part of the political renaissance. Also this takes me back in my school days when I read most of these books and were true educative, informative and communicative pieces. Ngugi Wa Thiong'o, Gakara Wa Njau, Wahome Mutahi with his satirical writings and Abdalla Latifa among others. As a lover of literary works that mirrors the society, I am happy to be reading the features.
Thank you Masiga. You will be amazed at the creative works that is generated there. This works of art are also illuminative to our country's history. Wahome Mutahi's book's Three Days on the Cross might be a work of fiction but it tells us of the horrors of the torture chambers of Nyayo house. A very dark period for the country.
