Great piece on the history of comics.. It has changed the way I look at comics... There is enough room for more African comics based on legends... With the right sponsorship the comics can be donated to school libraries across Kenya and the rest sold in bookshops others distributed in newspapers. Growing up I liked Babu..I waited in line to get a copy from the Sunday standard newspaper.
It would be a great addition to any library across the country. It would also help nurture the reading culture. I agree with you if we can find a way that these can availed to kids across the country. And the cartoonists too to create our own characters and story ideas. Babu was a favourite of many. It is still published by the Standard todate. The creator Kham has also created so many other characters.
